atNorth Strengthens Leadership with Key Director Appointments

Three new directors join to drive growth in IT, finance, and operations. The leadership additions aim to support sustainable development and the advancement of digital infrastructure capabilities.

REYKJAVÍK, Iceland, June 11, 2025 – atNorth has revealed three new director appointments that support the company’s growth and strengthens the organizational structure of the business for efficiency and future effectiveness.

Bjarki Björnsson – Director of Funding and Treasury

Bjarki is responsible for maintaining atNorth’s financial stability. With 20 years of treasury experience from positions at food processing equipment company, Marel, and Icelandic financing company, SP-Fjármögnun , Bjarki will work with executive leadership, financial institutions, and cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable financial solutions and drive operational excellence.

Based at atNorth’s data center in Iceland, Bjarki will report to CFO & deputy CEO, Eva Sóley Guðbjörnsdóttir.

Axel Gunnlaugsson – Director of IT

Axel has 30 years of experience in technology, including founding the cloud-based repair and service management platform Codilac, and serving as CTO at Icelandia and CIO at 365 Media. He will oversee atNorth’s IT operations, strategy, and infrastructure management. His role focuses on evolving services to align with customer and operational requirements while maintaining the availability, scalability, and performance of the company’s IT and cybersecurity systems.

Based at atNorth’s site in Iceland, Axel will report to chief sustainability and compliance officer, Janne Sigurdsson.

Jon Mckey – Nordic Operations Engineering Director

Jon joined atNorth in 2024 as Nordic technical manager and has recently been promoted to Nordic operations engineering director. Drawing on his data center engineering experience from Equinix, he will lead the planning and execution of infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.

Based at atNorth’s campus in Sweden, Jon will report to chief operations officer, Erling Guðmundsson.
