MUNICH, Germany, July 9, 2025 – SimScale, in collaboration with Hexagon’s design and engineering division, has made the Marc nonlinear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) solver available on its cloud platform. For the first time, engineers can run complex nonlinear simulations – covering material deformation and contact behavior in a web browser, reducing the need for on-premises tools. This shift raises new possibilities for how product development teams approach simulation workflows.
Unlocking Cutting-Edge Nonlinear Simulation, Democratized in the Cloud
For innovation and R&D teams working on components with deformation, complex contact, or nonlinear material behavior, SimScale’s cloud-based integration of Marc enables simulations in the early stages of design. Engineers can run nonlinear FEA analyses – including large deformations, arbitrary contact, self-contact, plasticity, and hyper-elasticity – in a web browser, eliminating the need for on-premises software and infrastructure.
Key capabilities include:
- Fast, Robust Nonlinear Analysis: Marc’s technology delivers speed and stability for the engineering problems.
- True Accessibility and Collaboration: Powered by SimScale’s cloud platform, users can access Marc’s capabilities anywhere, manage, collaborate and share simulation data.
- AI-Powered & Automated Workflows: Benefit from SimScale’s integrated AI for setup, instant result prediction, and agentic workflow automation.
- Scalability & Flexibility: High Performance Computing (HPC) provisioning ensures scalability and fast simulation turnaround.
- Broad Multi-Physics Coverage: Perform structural, thermal, electrical, and magnetic analyses on a single platform.
“Integrating Hexagon’s Marc technology with SimScale’s cloud-native environment is a game-changer for advanced simulation. Now, every engineer has access to best-in-class nonlinear FEA on demand, accelerating innovation while removing traditional technology barriers,” said Richard Szöke-Schuller, product manager at SimScale.
“This partnership is about more than bringing Marc to the cloud, it is about transforming the way engineers engage with simulation tools,” said Hugues Jeancolas, VP of products at Hexagon’s design and engineering. “With SimScale’s intuitive interface and agentic AI, users who are new to simulation can focus on solving engineering challenges rather than learning how to operate the tools. It is a leap forward in democratization, agility and productivity.”
