QUEBEC CITY, Canada, June 12, 2025 – InnovMetric has introduced the PolyWorks Digital Thread partnership program. This initiative works with software companies in engineering, manufacturing, and quality to improve digital integration in manufacturing. The program focuses on creating a connected network that enables dimensional inspection data to flow between different software systems, ensuring all users and systems refer to one consistent, authoritative set of data. This approach aims to enhance interoperability and streamline digital data exchanges across applications.
Manufacturing organizations use software from various vendors to handle different parts of their digital manufacturing processes. Currently, dimensional management relies on file-based data exchanges, which can lead to multiple copies of the same inspection data stored in different locations. The PolyWorks digital thread offers a way to connect partner software with the PolyWorks metrology platform and its centralized data server. This setup allows for automated data transfers, delivering dimensional inspection information to quality teams and integrating digital twin models and 3D measurement data throughout the organization.
“Our existing PolyWorks connectors cover a wide array of applications and processes, and we plan to add more connectors in the future. However, the use of 3D measurement data is expanding, and the number of applications that could benefit from it is rising as well. So, we think that the task is too big to solely rest on our shoulders. This is why we have decided to partner with software companies to allow them to develop and commercialize digital connectors that exchange 3D measurement information between PolyWorks and their own solutions,” says Marc Soucy, president of InnovMetric. He concludes, “It was natural for us to take this decision, as we had already determined that PolyWorks would be an open solution.”

About High QA
High QA develops manufacturing quality management software that serves companies across various industries. Their software automates quality assurance processes by extracting and organizing data to create a detailed, traceable bill of characteristics (BoC). The first PolyWorks digital thread connector is integrated into their HQA Connect software, enabling automatic ballooning of 2D drawings through optical character recognition (OCR). This feature allows metrologists to synchronize dimensional requirements with PolyWorks|Inspector. This integration reduces time spent on inspection project setup, minimizes errors from drawing interpretation, and preserves data accuracy. High QA plans to expand this integration by streaming inspection data from the PolyWorks|DataLoop centralized 3D measurement server to automatically generate quality assurance reports, including FAIs and PPAPs, within their 360 Core reporting and analysis software. “Together with InnovMetric, we’re weaving a digital thread that connects your quality and manufacturing teams, empowering them to work smarter, faster, and with greater accuracy,” says Sam Golan, founder and CEO of High QA.
About AutoForm
AutoForm provides software for stamping and body-in-white (BiW) assembly processes, enabling engineers to define optimal scenarios during process design. This helps avoid costly and time-consuming quality issues during prototyping and production. Through a digital thread partnership with PolyWorks, automotive manufacturers can conduct virtual dimensional inspections in PolyWorks|Inspector using simulation models created by AutoForm Forming and AutoForm Assembly early in the process engineering phase. Inspection data and measurement results are shared in real time with quality and engineering teams via the PolyWorks|DataLoop centralized 3D measurement server. This integration reduces the number of tooling and assembly iterations by allowing process engineers and quality specialists to identify dimensional problems 12 to 18 months before tooling or part production begins. Engineering teams can also perform deviation analyses between simulated models and nominal dimensions to enhance simulation accuracy. “Today, optimizing process engineering by building a digital twin-based process, customers save around five million euros per year per car project. We are confident that bringing dimensional inspection early into the process engineering phase will save a couple of million more,” states Olivier Leteurtre, CEO of AutoForm.
About Duwe-3d
Duwe-3d has partnered with InnovMetric for 25 years and serves as the PolyWorks Master distributor in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. They develop custom PolyWorks software extensions tailored to meet specific applications. Their collaboration expanded with the PolyWorks digital thread partnership, motivated by the creation of a virtual clamping plug-in for PolyWorks|Inspector. This plug-in simulates clamping forces on 3D scanned models of unconstrained sheet metal parts, replicating the effect of physical clamping. By doing so, it removes the need for building custom checking fixtures for each part, which speeds up inspection processes and lowers tooling costs. “Our customer ‘Porsche Leipzig’ is already virtually clamping their parts and checking them in PolyWorks. Proof of Concepts for other OEM’s have shown cost & time savings of up to 60%,” says Claus Knoll, CEO of Duwe-3d.
About InnovMetric
InnovMetric is a software development company that provides solutions for manufacturers to digitize their 3D measurement workflows. The company introduced point-cloud-based dimensional inspection in 2000 and developed a universal 3D metrology software platform in 2006. Its PolyWorks software is used by over 23,000 customers in 100 countries, including major industrial manufacturers who have adopted it as their standard 3D metrology platform. Currently, InnovMetric is focused on advancing digital data and process management technologies to address evolving industry requirements.
