About Best Managed Companies

The Best Managed Companies program is a long-standing international initiative that evaluates and recognizes privately held mid-sized businesses based on specific criteria: strategic direction, operational performance, governance, and financial resilience. Initially launched in the 1990s and now active in over 45 countries, the program is administered by regional partners such as Deloitte, UBS, and national industry associations. It does not operate as a commercial enterprise but functions as a benchmarking and recognition platform. Participating companies come from sectors including manufacturing, technology, consumer goods, and professional services. The program provides structured assessment, feedback, and access to peer learning networks, supporting continuous improvement in organizational management. Local program offices manage evaluation and award decisions in each country. Recognition through the program signals adherence to business standards and structured, long-term planning practices.
