Before commercial deployment, developers must complete extensive testing, secure approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, establish reliable fuel supply chains, and demonstrate that their designs can be manufactured economically at scale. Each of these steps could take years, making widespread deployment unlikely before the next decade.
