
BREESE, IL, Apr 3, 2025 – Poettker Construction promoted six of its employees to address the needs of the growing business better.

Ryan Fuhler, Poettker Construction’s first promoted employee, has advanced in his 14 years with the company. He moved from senior project manager to project director. Fuhler will spearhead multiple projects’ overall direction, management, and financial outcome in this role. Fuhler earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).
Ben Evelsizer earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from SIUE and holds a Green Building and LEED Fundamentals certification. He started his construction career in 2011 as an operations project engineer. In 2021, he joined the preconstruction team and later got promoted to senior preconstruction manager. His responsibilities include updating clients on project status, assessing risks, creating budgets and schedules, and coordinating with trade contractors.
As project manager, Kris Groves will provide project leadership and technical direction, manage the project finances, communicate with stakeholders daily, and ensure construction adheres to the design, budget, and schedule. Groves joined Poettker Construction 2018 as a project engineer and was promoted to senior project engineer in 2021. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University.
Nic Perkins joined Poettker Construction in 2021 as a project engineer. In his new role as Senior Project Engineer, he will handle tasks such as preparing shop drawings, material orders, fabrication and erection drawings, and other submittals. He will also assist the project manager with financial tracking and coordinating subcontractors. Perkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drury University and is OSHA 30 certified.
Samantha Atkins started at Poettker Construction in 2022 as a project management administrator. After showing interest in working on-site, she was promoted to project engineer – operations. In her new role, she supports project teams by managing tasks to meet all project requirements. Atkins earned her bachelor’s degree from Christopher Newport University and her master’s from SIUE.
Poettker Construction supports the development of future professionals through hands-on internships. Johnny Leigh joined the company as a project engineer intern and was promoted to a project management support role. He will take on the position full-time while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management at SIUE. In his role, he will help with project scheduling, organizing meetings, and coordinating subcontractors.
