LONDON, UK, Oct 6, 2026 – Protium and H-Power have begun distributing hydrogen produced by ammonia cracking in Surrey to industrial customers in Yorkshire. The route uses Protium’s tube trailers to supply manufacturing and transport sites without relying on centralized pipeline connections.
The corridor links H-Power’s Dunsfold Park facility in Surrey with Yorkshire destinations including Wanlass Beck. Each trailer has a hydrogen capacity of 360 kg. The companies describe the fuel-cell-grade hydrogen meeting ISO 14687 Grade D (99.97% purity).
H-Power produces the hydrogen using decentralized ammonia-cracking technology, while Protium handles logistics and distribution. The partnership incorporates H-Power’s output into Protium’s network for transporting hydrogen from multiple suppliers.
Protium’s distribution network serves industrial, heavy transport and off-grid power customers across the United Kingdom. The company is also expanding its own green hydrogen production sites, including its facilities in Wales, and projects under development in Scotland.
Christopher Jackson, CEO at Protium said: “Ensuring high-purity hydrogen moves seamlessly across our distribution network is at the very core of our operational mission. By integrating H-Power’s production assets into our established transport framework, we are proving that virtual pipeline distribution works in real time at commercial scale. We are providing industrial users and customers looking to replace diesel, with the supply certainty they need to replace fossil fuels today.”
John Wilson, chief executive officer at H-Power commented: “Our partnership demonstrates the value of bringing together complementary capabilities across the hydrogen sector. By combining H-Power’s, market disruptive, hydrogen production technology with Protium’s logistics and distribution expertise, we have established an end-to-end hydrogen value chain that can support industrial decarbonization and strengthen the UK’s domestic hydrogen economy.”

About PROTIUM

Protium Green Solutions, established in 2019 and headquartered in London, develops and operates end-to-end green hydrogen energy systems for industrial and transport sectors. The company focuses on infrastructure planning, hydrogen production, compression and logistics, offering a vertically integrated hydrogen-as-a-service model across the UK and Europe. Its Pioneer series electrolyzer units – Pioneer 1 and Pioneer 2 – support modular hydrogen production with integrated digital controls and monitoring. These systems use AVEVA software for real-time data collection, simulation and analytics, contributing to improved equipment reliability and operational efficiency. As of early 2025, Protium has raised approximately £31 million in Series B funding and reports annual revenues between $10 million and $15 million. The company’s current project pipeline is expected to support over 500 megawatts of renewable energy capacity and could enable annual CO₂ reductions of up to 256,000 tons. Protium’s approach aligns with decarbonization goals and supports scalable hydrogen adoption across its target industries.
