IRVINE, CA, June 6, 2025 – Roland DGA has introduced two additions to its VersaSTUDIO Series of desktop printers: the BN2-30 and the BD-12. The BN2-30 is a 30-inch (736 mm) eco-solvent printer/cutter, while the BD-12 is a UV direct-to-object printer with a 12.2” x 8.3” (305 mm x 210 mm) print area, designed to handle objects slightly larger than A4 size. Both models offer an expanded work area compared to previous VersaSTUDIO models, supporting increased productivity and profitability.

The BN2-30 is a 30-inch eco-solvent printer/cutter that combines high-resolution printing with precision contour cutting. Its compact footprint makes it suitable for smaller workspaces, while still offering the functionality required for a range of applications including T-shirt transfer graphics, yard signage, posters, stickers and labels, displays and more. The device supports CMYK and White configurations using Roland DG’s Eco-Sol MAX 2 inks, and is designed to produce coherent output across varied media types.

The BD-12 UV flatbed printer prints on a range of three-dimensional objects up to A4 size and four inches (102 mm) high. It works with items like smartphone covers, notepads, sports memorabilia, giftware, fashion accessories, and promotional products. Optional rotary devices allow printing on cylindrical objects up to two inches (50 mm) in diameter, such as cosmetics and travel items.

The BD-12 uses formulated EUV5 UV inks in CMYK and White. These inks work across different materials, including fabric, leather, wood, and plastic – suitable for both soft and rigid surfaces. Users can apply EUV5 clear ink for gloss or matte finishes and special effects like simulated 3D embossing. An optional primer ink improves adhesion when printing on glass and metal surfaces.

“The introduction of these two versatile, affordable, and simple-to-use desktop printers expands and strengthens our VersaSTUDIO product lineup,” said Roland DGA’s product manager of digital print, Daniel Valade. “Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a company owner who wants to improve control and profitability by bringing outsourced production in-house, or an educational supervisor seeking to expose students to the latest STEAM technologies, these printers will increase your creative opportunities and help take your business or program to the next level.”

Both the BN2-30 and BD-12 have printheads that deliver high-resolution output and offer multiple print modes for various applications. These machines are designed for simple operation and convenience. Each device has a single power button. All other functions are controlled through the included Utility software, which uses clear icons and offers easy access to menu items.

The BN2-30 and BD-12 include FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO edition software for design and printing tasks. They also come with VersaWorks 7, Roland DG’s latest RIP software. VersaWorks 7 supports both Windows and macOS and has tools that help improve print quality, efficiency, and productivity. With FlexiDESIGNER and VersaWorks 7, users who are new to design and output software can create their desired items in less time.

Users also have access to Roland DG Connect, a cloud-based platform that enables print professionals manage their print operations through a single app. Roland DG Connect provides information about your printers, helps keep your devices running, reduces downtime, and supports overall productivity. It includes tools for real-time monitoring, business insights, inventory management, and support, all accessible from one place.

The BN2-30 and BD-12 are priced for first-time users. Both products are backed up by manufacturer warranties. Optional extended maintenance contracts are available.
