FORT WORTH, TX, Mar 10, 2025 – Siemens has declared the opening of its $190 million electrical equipment manufacturing facility. , The site is responsible for creating reliable and efficient electrical equipment, such as low-voltage switchboards necessary to meet the demand from the booming data center market and America’s AI growth.

The 500,000-square-foot facility has created 480 new jobs and is expected to reach 800 roles by 2026. To support workforce development, the facility incorporates professionals from the education sector, including former teachers and principals, into its employee training team. Their experience has contributed to designing training programs that accommodate different learning styles and improve the transition from training to the production floor. Before starting work on the shop floor, Siemens introduces new employees to classroom instruction training systems and hands-on learning in a physical lab.

Siemens aims for all assets to be net-zero carbon by 2030. The Fort Worth facility meets this standard and leads in sustainable manufacturing. It includes an all-electric powder-coat paint line, electric forklifts, energy-efficient HVAC systems, solar streetlights, and energy monitoring. The facility also features LuxWall windows backed by Breakthrough Energy. The site serves as a model for future manufacturing, reducing costs and energy use.

“This ribbon cutting is coming on the heels of our Pomona, California Electrical Products facility expansion celebration and several other exciting manufacturing investments,” said regional CEO of electrical products for Siemens Smart Infrastructure (NA) Barry Powell. “These two back-to-back openings underscore the importance of Siemens’ power distribution solutions to American infrastructure. Powering utilities, the construction industry, commercial facilities and, of course, data centers, we are scaling up to ensure U.S industry has the electrical foundation it needs to continue to stay competitive.”

Showcasing the future of industrial automation, the facility team utilized Siemens’ Digital Industries Software to optimize the production flow. Siemens Technomatix’s 3D models were used to simulate, validate, and commission the production process so the shop floor could be designed for higher production quality.

The announcement joins Siemens’ recent investment of more than $690 million in American manufacturing over the past several years. The investments include a $95 million investment in Pomona, CA to add capacity to its legacy electrical products factory, a $36 million investment in Wendell, North Carolina, to expand its fabrication capacities, customer experience, and workforce traininga $220 million investment in a new rail manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina to establish a bicoastal “Made in America” rail manufacturing footprint, and an expansion of its existing electrical products manufacturing plant in Grand Prairie, TX to meet the demand for the electrification of essential infrastructure.
