PHOENIX, AZ, Apr 21, 2025 – In a move to boost up domestic semiconductor manufacturing, Spirit Electronics has acquired SMART Microsystems, based at Lorain County Community College (LCCC) in Ohio. This expansion into Northeast Ohio strengthens the link between academic research and business requirements, opening new ideas for innovation and skilled workforce in the U.S. semiconductor landscape.

Located on the LCCC campus, SMART Microsystems will serve as a center for advanced research and education in materials, MEMS, and advanced packaging technologies, including 2.5D and 3D integration.
