PLANO, TX, May 16, 2025 – Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced that Tatra Trucks has adopted the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to support its production expansion and customization capabilities. The deployment includes Teamcenter for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and the Mendix low-code platform, enabling Tatra to streamline and modernize its manufacturing workflows. The move is part of the company’s push to digitalize production processes and align operations with its growth strategy.

“The implementation of Siemens’ Teamcenter software represents a major technological shift for Tatra Trucks and will provide the company with a significant competitive advantage on the global market. Digitization will enable us to respond more efficiently to the specific requirements of each customer and faster order processing. We anticipate more flexible development, faster technological preparation of production and more timely deliveries of the required quality,” said Jakub Pončík, technical director, Tatra Trucks.

Tatra Trucks is implementing Teamcenter to integrate its PLM system with its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This integration is expected to improve data consistency and process coordination across business functions, including development, production, spare parts management, and service operations. The goal is to streamline communication and enhance traceability from design through post-warranty support.

The integrated systems will support Tatra Trucks’ digitalization efforts by consolidating previously separate platforms and improving cross-departmental collaboration. As part of the implementation, Siemens’ Mendix low-code platform will be used to develop applications that access data from ERP and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. These applications will connect to the Teamcenter digital thread, ensuring consistent data flow across the organization.

“The decision to implement solutions from Siemens Xcelerator at Tatra Trucks demonstrates its key role in optimizing the company’s digital processes. Teamcenter enables the effective use of digital twins and artificial intelligence to innovate products and manufacturing processes, helping to ensure long-term competitiveness. We are glad that Tatra Trucks has chosen our solution and we look forward to our journey together,” said René Zahradník, managing director for Czech Republic, Siemens Digital Industries Software.

The PLM system will centralize essential processes in a single database. Teamcenter will manage customer requirements and track them through project and quality management functions. It will also provide tools to record, and process change requirements. The PLM system supports the creation and management of bills of materials, helping align design, production, and service activities. It will assist Tatra Trucks in meeting regulatory standards and tracking environmental data, including carbon footprint reduction.

About Tatra Trucks

Tatra Trucks, founded in 1850 and based in Kopřivnice, Czech Republic, is one of the oldest operating vehicle manufacturers. The company designs and produces heavy-duty and special-purpose trucks for industries like defense, construction, firefighting, mining, forestry, and agriculture. Its product range includes models like TATRA PHOENIX and TATRA TERRA for civilian use, and TATRA FORCE and TATRA TACTIC for military and specialized applications. A key technical feature of Tatra vehicles is their chassis design, which uses a central load-carrying tube and independently suspended swinging half-axles, providing strong off-road performance. In 2013, the company underwent ownership restructuring and is now controlled by Czech shareholders, including the Czechoslovak Group and Promet Group. It employs over 1,800 people, with an additional 500 in its subsidiary, Tatra Metalurgie, which focuses on foundry and forging operations. Tatra serves both domestic markets, particularly the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and exports to multiple countries.
