BEND, OR, May 13, 2025 – At the NAFEMS World Conference 2025 in Salzburg, Austria, Tech Soft 3D will introduce VizStreamer, a tool developed to extend simulation visualization capabilities. It allows traditional CAE desktop applications to stream data directly to web browsers for visualization, enabling a web-based experience without major changes to the existing application code. This approach helps development teams transition legacy tools to the browser while minimizing the need for large-scale redevelopment efforts.
“VizStreamer is a game-changer for organizations seeking to modernize without losing decades of proven functionality,” said Eric Vinchon, vice president, product, Tech Soft 3D.
Innovation in Supporting Legacy Cloud Applications Cloud Transition
Traditionally, moving desktop CAE applications to the web has involved trade-offs. Remote desktop solutions offer a temporary workaround but come with security threats, high operational costs, and performance limitations. On the other hand, rewriting an application for the browser requires substantial time and resources, making it impractical for organizations. As a result, teams have had limited options when trying to modernize their existing tools for web-based use.
Tech Soft 3D’s VizStreamer is designed to help companies retain the core functionality of their existing desktop CAE applications while making them accessible through a web interface. By using WebGL for client-side rendering, the tool enables a browser-based experience without relying on server-side GPUs. This approach lowers infrastructure costs and supports scalable deployment, offering a practical solution for transitioning desktop tools to the web.
Architecture and Implementation
Tech Soft 3D’s VizStreamer service efficiently streams CAE applications visualization data to a WebGL engine in real time, running in any modern browser. The tool is designed to interface directly with the existing legacy application’s logic. During the NAFEMS presentation, Tech Soft 3D will dive deeper into the service’s technical implementation, exploring its interface and application logic, other sources of CAE data, and provide an example of the data flow and reuse of an existing CAE application. These insights will serve as a roadmap for CAE developers looking to modernize their desktop applications.
