WESTMINSTER, CO, Mar 13, 2025 – Trimble announced the 2025 versions of Tekla Structural Designer, its structural analysis and 3D design software for multimaterial buildings, and Tekla Tedds, its automated civil and structural analysis calculation software. Both products offer enhanced user experience and expanded design capabilities for improved design collaboration experience.
Tekla Structural Designer 2025 and Tekla Tedds 2025 help create connected workflows to facilitate design collaboration between various software solutions like Trimble SketchUp, Autodesk Revit and Tekla Structures. The integrations allow structural engineers to reuse information and share and analyze models to enhance the engineer’s productivity and accuracy.
Connected Ecosystems for Confidence in Workflows
Models developed in Trimble SketchUp can be used as reference models within Tekla Structural Designer, improving coordination between architects and structural engineers. Additionally, integration between Tekla Structural Designer and Autodesk Revit is enhanced to support bidirectional model exchange. The Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Revit 2025 introduces improved connectivity rules, expanded profile families for the UK and USA markets, and refined analytical model creation.
Comprehensive Design-to-Detail Workflow
Through an enhanced connected workflow between Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer, BIM modelers and structural engineers can share model information for steel structure analysis. This data transfer reduces errors in the design process and facilitates a thorough design-to-detail workflow to improve collaboration between architects and engineers.
Tekla Structural Designer 2025 allows direct mapping of user-defined attributes (UDAs) including fire condition design data, between Tekla Structures, supporting fire safety compliance. Additionally, enhanced integration with IDEA StatiCa structural analysis software optimizes the connection design process, allowing for an expanded connection modeling within the Tekla environment.
“Trimble supports its customers in their quest to collaborate, construct and deliver with confidence,” said David Sanderson, product manager, Tekla structural designer and Tekla Tedds at Trimble. “The enhancements in the 2025 versions of Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds streamline the design process by bridging the worlds of architecture and engineering, supporting teamwork around shared design data while ensuring maximum productivity.”
Tekla Tedds Calculations Library Updates
Trimble values keeping its software libraries and design codes up to date, ensuring that engineers have access to the latest design standards. Therefore, the library of calculations in Tekla Tedds has been updated to incorporate the latest North American Loading and Steel Design codes (ASCE7-22 and AISC360-22). Tekla Tedds has also introduced temporary works calculations for Outrigger loading design (EN1997/TWf) and Crane wind loading assessment (BS ISO 4302).
Design Solutions: Rapid Carbon Assessments
Tekla Structural Designer 2025 integrates with Structural PANDA, enabling UK structural engineers to perform carbon assessments during preliminary design. The tool generates multiple structural design options based on factors such as carbon footprint and cost. The integration allows import of preliminary schemes into Tekla Structural Designer for for detailed design development.
Design Solutions: Podium Structures
Tekla Structural Designer 2025 enhances masonry design capabilities for North American podium structures. The update incorporates a finite element method for masonry wall analysis, adding wall edge releases and improved reinforcement detailing. The upgradations support compliance with regional standards and streamline masonry design workflows.
Regional Expansion
The addition of a new Mexican environment to the selection of regional settings expands the usability of Tekla Structural Designer 2025 to regions using US codes with metric units.
AI-Powered Trimble Assistant for Tekla
The AI-powered Trimble Assistant for Tekla is available as a web app in Tekla User Assistance. It provides answers to users’ questions on Tekla products – Tekla Structures, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds or Tekla PowerFab – by using the Tekla User Assistance knowledge base.
In-Product Notifications
New in-product notification panes in both Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds alert users to information about product updates and bulletins.
